Tony Robinson
Tony has had an interesting journey here at Pacific Current Group as he originally joined the Board in August 2015, as a Non-executive Director. In April 2016, he became an Executive Director before returning to his role as a Non-executive Director in September 2018. A month later, October 2018, he was appointed as Chairman. He currently holds roles as Managing Director of PSC Insurance Group Limited and as a Non-executive Director of River Capital Pty Ltd.
Tony has significant expertise and experience across multiple industries including banking, financial services, telecommunications, and transportation. His previous roles include Managing Director of IOOF Ltd and OAMPS Limited, Director of Tasfoods Limited, Director of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Limited, and Non-executive Chairman of Longtable Group Ltd (currently Maggie Beer Holdings Limited).
Aside from his multi-faceted roles he is also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration, Nomination and Governance Committee.
Michael Clarke
Michael has over 30 years’ of experience in asset management in both Australia and overseas. He has held various roles including responsibility for managing equity, fixed income and currency portfolios and building asset management businesses. His most recent leadership role was Chief Executive (acting) of Challenger Funds Management, based in Sydney. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Russell Investments’ institutional business in Australia and New Zealand, Director of Strategy and International at AMP Capital Investors, Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer at Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management, Investment Director at EquitiLink Australia, and Division Director at Macquarie Bank.
Michael is currently a Director of Perpetual Equity Investment Company Limited (ASX:PIC) and a member of PIC’s Nomination & Corporate Governance and Audit & Risk Committees.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (Hons) from UNSW and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sydney.
Joanne Dawson
Joanne Dawson, an Independent Non-Executive Director, was appointed to the Board of Pacific Current Group on 1 July 2024. She is also Chair of the Audit & Risk and Remuneration, Nomination and Governance Committees.
Ms Dawson has experience in highly regulated, service businesses coupled with a long history of corporate transactions.
Her prior roles include senior positions at Deloitte and National Australia Bank, and Chair of EL&C Baillieu Ltd (stockbrokers). She worked with Deloitte in both Australia and the USA in their Financial Services, Assurance and Advisory Division.
Joanne is presently a Non-Executive Director of Centuria Capital Group (ASX: CNI), PSC Insurance Group Ltd (ASX:PSI), AMA Group Ltd (ASX: AMA), PetSure (Australia) Pty Ltd, Bank First and an Independent Trustee Director and Chair of the Investment Committee of Vision Super.
Joanne has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration from RMIT.
She was also founder and CEO of Executive Wealth Strategies, is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Gilles Guérin
Gilles was formerly the CEO of BNP Paribas Capital Partners, where he worked for the past eleven years developing the alternative investment capabilities of the BNP Paribas Group. He previously served as chief executive officer and president of Natixis Global Associates and executive of Natixis AM North America. He also held executive and senior leadership roles at HDF Finance, AlphaSimplex, IXIS AM and Commerz Financial Products.
Gilles has more than 20 years’ experience in capital markets and investment management. This includes cross asset class experience spanning the equities fixed income and commodities markets, with a specific focus on alternative strategies and hedge funds.
During a career that has spanned the globe, Gilles has managed relationships with investors and distributors in Europe, the United States, Japan, the Middle East and Australia. He has operated distribution capabilities worldwide and developed new products and investment capabilities. He has served on the board of various investment companies, including Aurora Investment Management. Throughout his career, he has liaised with regulators across various jurisdictions and worked with top investment industry thoughtleaders, including Andrew Lo and Dan Fuss.
Gilles studied engineering at the National Higher French Institute of Aeronautics and Space.
